Oxygen-limitation activated promoter
This part is an oxygen-sensitive promoter for Bacillus subtilis, which is activated in low-oxygen conditions.
The sequence was taken from upsteam of the fnr gene, which codes for a transcriptional regulator that is an integral part of the adaptation of the bacterium to low oxygen tension.
