peroxide response regulator perR
PerR is the transcriptional repressor involved in the H2O2 stress response in Firmicutes .
PerR oxidation enablesa rapid induction of genes required to protect cells from a H2O2 stress.
Deletion of a peroxide repressor(PerR)-homologous protein resulted in prolonged aerotolerance, limited growth under aerobic conditions and rapid consumption of oxygen from an aerobic environment.
In our project, we use an aeration-inducible promoter analyzed the effects of over-expression, non-expression and partial expression of this gene on the growth of bacteria under different dissolved oxygen.
