This a theophylline-inducible riboswitch which works at the translation level, and the riboswitch produce low levels of background gene expression in the absence of the small molecule theophylline and large (>50-fold) increases in expression in the presence of the ligand.
Usage and Biology
This is a switch regulated by theophylline at the translation level, that is, a certain concentration of theophylline molecules in the outside world can combine with this riboswitch, and the subsequent translation process of ribosomes can be carried out through conformational changes.
