mScarlet
mScarlet is a red fluorescent protein (RFP) which was engineered in 2017 and based on a synthetic gene template consisting of mCherry, chromo proteins, and naturally occurring RFPs.
Usage and Biology
This fluorescent protein carries the highest brightness in the RFP class and a fluorescent life of 3.9 nanoseconds. mScarlet has an absorbance of 569 nanometers and emission maxima of 594 nanometers.
