CsgA-ShMT3

CsgA is the major curli subunit protein of E.coli. Therefor, the surface display of ShMT3, a protein belongs to Metallothionein family, achieved by linking to CsgA.
IGEM_XJTLU 2022 tested the function of CsgA-ShMT3 by measuring the concentration of adsorbed metal ions, such as Cu(II), Cd(II).

Figure1. E.coli expressed ShMT3 protein showed higher adsorption of Cu(II) in 1.8mM CuSO4 solution.
