MaFMO

Monooxygenase hydroxylates the C3 position of the indole ring and forms 6-Br-indoxyl.

Biological function

Monooxygenase from Methylophaga aminisulfidivorans (MaFMO). And flavin is used as a cofactor when MaFMO hydroxylates the C3 position of the indole ring and forms indigo. Indigo has a maximum absorption peak at 606nm.

Instruction

The coding sequence of target gene was inserted into an expression vectors with BBa_K3722000 to obtain BBa_K3722011. We transformed the constructed plasmid into E. coli BL21 (DE3) to verify its successful heterologous expression.
