ompA promoter



Description

ompA promoter is a constitutive promoter that drives the expression of OmpA transmembrane protein in E. coli and other enterobacteria [1].

Biology

The ompA promoter is -35/-10 region upstream of the ompA gene in E. coli MG1655. OmpA protein is regulated by two overlapping promoters ompAp1 and ompAp2 [1,2].

Usage

ompA promoter was used to regulate the expression of OmpA/OprF chimeric protein in the IFN-γ sensing system.

Characterization

The ompA promoter sequence was amplified from E. coli MG1655 and cloned into our plasmid. Agarose gel electrophoresis results confirming the construction with the ompA promoter are shown in Fig. 1.
