uTEV3, efficiency-enhanced TEV protease variant
uTEV3 is a mutant from the original TEV protease. Three amino acids(I138T, S153N, T180A) are mutated in this variant and the catalytic efficiency is higher than the original one and slightly lower than eTEV( BBa_K3989002). This variant is generated by directed evolution in yeast.
Properties
The three mutations are at the binding site of the protease. The catalytic efficiency of this variant and the original TEV protease is shown in Fig.1. More comparison between this variant and others can be found in the page of BBa_K3989002.
