RNA Motif GUAGAG targeted PPR - Ribonuclease A Complex

This part is a fusion protein. It consists of a PPR complex that binds GUAGAG RNA loop and the Ribonuclease A.

Usage and Biology

Ribonuclease A (BBa_K3657019) is a unspecific highly active endonuclease.

Single PPR subunits bind to specific ribonucleotides. Concatenation of the subunits forms a protein that binds a specific RNA sequence.

In that way this construct can deliver Ribonuclease A to a specific RNA. It was planned to be used to bind to the following Broccoli modifications: BBa_K3657017, BBa_K3657018. More information can be found here: iGEM Heidelberg 2020.

Due to the COVID pandemic we were not able to experimentally examine performance of this part.
