Deinococcus RecA (DrRecA) protein plays an important role in high radio-resistance of Deinococcus radiodurans. RecA promotes inverse strand exchange reactions and DNA degradation during the early phase of Extended Synthesis Dependent Strand Annealing repair. This gene is homologous E. coli's recA gene. E.coli recA binds preferentially to single strand DNA, on the other hand, Deinococcus RecA binds to double strand DNA, even if single strand DNA is also in the solutions.

This is a device, in which conducts an operation in the cell. This can express the RecA gene.
