yEGFP3
A yeast- and FACS-optimized EGFP variant.
Usage and Biology
This yEGFP3 reporter gene is an EGFP variant optimized for yeast and FACS cell sorting.
Functional Parameters
yEGFP3 protein is reported to have a half-life of about 7h in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Mateus et al., 2000), the budding yeast to which Pichia pastoris is very similar.
A single-base mutation is introduced for Type IIS compatibility. This single mutation does not affect the protein sequence.
