Outer membrane protease T
The outer membrane protease T is a housekeeping protease. It degrades peptides in the close environment of the bacteria.
Usage and Biology
OmpT can be used to facilitate protein export by clevage of the OmpTSite bound to a target protein. This way we use it to cleave the signal peptide HlyA
