Our full construct APIS encodes for the genes HemA- HemF, which are the enzymes required for the production of protoporphyrin IX, a tetrapyrrole compound and is an intermediate in the heme biosynthesis pathway. The composite was assembled using 4 gblocks, and have HemB, HemE and HemF coded on the complementary strand, with T7 promoters, BBa_B0034 RBS and  bidirectional terminators.
