EndA endonuclease is expressed entirely extracellularly. Its natural function in nature is to prevent transformation when expressed, so that Vibrio cholera can manage the period and seasons for transformation.
Utilizing that characteristics, this enzyme can be used to coat bacterial cells in endonuclease cloud. This can prevent natural transformation from happening.
