iLOV fluorescent Protein Phytobrick
LOV domains form a subset of the Per-ARNT-Sim (PAS) domain superfamily and were first identified in proteins regulated either by light, oxygen or voltage, hence the acronym LOV [6]. LOV domains specifically function as photosensory modules and typically bind flavin mononucleotide (FMN) as an ultraviolet (UV)/blue light-absorbing chromophore within the protein that comprises five antiparallel β-sheets and several α-helices.
