A translational fusion between E. coli OsmY and E. coli Hfq
OsmY is a naturally secreted protein found in E. coli and Hfq is an RNA binding protein (BBa_K1963000). A biobrick encoding OsmY was added to the registry in 2012 (BBa_K892008) and further characterised by Dundee_Schools in 2016 (BBa_K1963007). This fusion system could potentially be used to export RNA from the cell.
Usage and Biology
This translational fusion was further characterised as a component of the BBa_K1963008 comosite part.
