sfGFP under proC promoter

proC is a moderately strong constitutive promoter (see Davis, 2010) that seems to reflect growth rate of E. coli bacterial strains on different media and potentially can be a measure of protein biosynthesis rate; to be determined in the future. Its expression rate is higher than that of inducible promoters.

The sfGFP fluorescence [RFU] was measured using Tecan fluorometer.

We observed that proD is up to three times stronger than proC. An improvement upon this promoter would be enhancing the hairpin in proC with 5'UTR hairpin to stop translation in lower temperatures.
