Coding Sequence AMY1
This is an AMY gene obtained from a Bacillus strain of bacteria. It produces an enzyme that hydrolyzes starch and degrades it into monosaccarides.
Native Alpha Amylase Secretion Sequence
This is the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens alpha amylase signal sequence, which directs the protein to be secreted.
Alpha Amylase
α-Amylase is a protein enzyme that hydrolyses alpha bonds of long alpha-linked polysaccharides, such as glycogen.
ADH1 Terminator
This part is the terminator region from yeast alcohol dehydrogenase gene.
Usage and Biology
This part was proved functional by the 2015 BRHS iGEM Team. Please click the below link to see their results. http://2015.igem.org/Team:BroadRun-NorthernVA/Results
