MicF regulated GFP
This part consists of the micF target region of the E. coli ompF gene fused to GFP. MicF is a non-coding regulatory RNA that binds to the micF target region on the ompF mRNA and prevents it from being translated [1]. Thus, the fusion protein should be consecutively produced under normal conditions and silenced in presence of micF.
This part was created as a reporter of the intracellular signal from the chimeric EnvZ-Affibody receptors, created by iGEM Stockholm 2015. The BioBrick has been sequenced and confirmed to be the correct construct. When E. coli is transformed with the construct, fluorescent colonies are visible. No further characterisation was attempted due to lack of time.
