sfGFP N-terminal
Superfolder Green Fluorescent Protein is a derivative of superfolder Green Fluorescent protein. Compared to eGFP it displays improved stability and stronger green fluorescence. Excitation peak: 380 nm Emission peak: 440 nm. Also known for its resistance to unspecific quenching (eg. by acrylamide exposure). This is the N-terminus of sfGFP, that can be used in Bimolecular Fluorescence Complementation system (BiFC). It can be used in conjunction with two versions of superfolderFP C-terminus (BBa_K1093014 and BBa_K1093015) of different specificity to sensitivity ratio (BBa_K1093007 being the more sensitive and BBa_K1093008 the more specific). The 'wild type' C-terminus is not applicable, as it spontaneously recreates the native fluorophore with the N-terminal part (although it can be used as an alternative for classical alpha complementation). Part contains Freiburg prefix (suitable for fusion at the N-terminus).
