TycA_deltaCom Module from Tyrocidine

This is the CDS for TycA_deltaCom module from the Tyrocidine gene cluster of Brevibacillus parabrevis. It is the first module in gene cluster encoding the non-ribosomal peptide (NRP) synthetase of the cyclic decamer Tyrocidine. This specific module TycA_deltaCom is responsiple for the binding of the first amino acid D-Phenyl of the NRP. It consists of an A- (adenylation), a PCP- (peptide-carrier protein) and an E- (epimerization) domain. After tycA follows the tycB gene with three modules.

This biobrick can be used for the design of different NRP synthetases. It was used in the synthetic Tripeptide I of our [http://2013.igem.org/Team:Heidelberg/Project/Tyrocidine project].
