CP44 constitutive promoter

This is a constitutive promoter characterized in E. coli and Lactococcus lactis. It has a strength of 34 (in E coli) and 12 (in L lactis) Miller units in the β-Galactosidase assay of Jensen & Hammer (1998). That makes it into a quite strong promoter in E coli and a rather weak promoter in L lactis (note that the scales are cannot be directly compared).

Usage and Biology

The CP series of Jensen & Hammer are useful as constitutive promoters when the restriction sites included in the Anderson promoter collection are undesirable.
