<p>This part has been sequence verified. It has also been tested for protein expression. A nice clear band of the appropriate size can be seen at the bottom of the gel indicating a strong overexpression of a protein if this sequence is in a pSB1C3 plasmid.</p>

Applications of BBa_K515104

  • The intended application of this construct was to negate the expression of holin within our Gene Guard system.
  • The Gene Guard module was designed to tackle the issue of horizontal gene transfer. Horizontal gene transfer is a key issue when debating the release of GMOs and must therefore be tackled if any of these projects were to ever be field tested.
