mamHI, from Magnetospirillum magneticum

This part includes genes mamH and mamI, which were extracted from the genome of Magnetospirillum magneticum strain AMB-1 by [http://2011.igem.org/Team:Washington UW iGEM Team 2011].

Usage and Biology

The gene number of mamH is AMB0961; mam I is AMB0962. The specific function of MamH has not been reported. MamI associates with the magnetosome for chain localization, and the loss of mamI causes no magnetosome vesicle formation.
