This part was added into the test circuit K648034.  We used K648034 to test that the promoter on the right side of Or was working properly. The production of red fluorescence protein was measured using a TECAN machine, and compared to a normal strand of E. coli. The data collected while the samples were in exponential growth was used to determine a rate of expression of the rfp. Compared to the control, the rate of fluorescence was much higher in our test subject, about 4227 compared to 418 (fu/OD600nm). This suggests that the promoter on Or is functional. A graph of the results is shown below.
