In our bioabsorbant part, we designed this part to fulfill the function that more Hg(II) will be delivered into the cytosol so that the mercury responsive promoter(PmerT) will be activated to a great extent. It then will drive downstream gene's expression with a great expression level. In this way we have made sure the proteins that were used to bind Hg(II) are expressed in large quantity.

T7 promoter(BBa_I719005)+MerT+MerP+MerC(the facilitation module of mercury absorption)

This part conbined MerT, MerP and MerC together under the regulation of T7 promoter. MerT,merP and merC can act together to transport Hg(II) into the cytosol to activate promoters which are dependent on intracellular Hg(II).
