Kozak
This part acts as a connector for Type II promoter parts in the yeast toolkit by Lee (2015) for inserting a 10bp Kozak sequence in the immediate upstream of the start codon. The Kozak sequence is given by 5’-GAAAGAAAAA, i.e. the 5’ UTR motif with the top 5% in yeast, as described by Dvir et al. (2013). This would allow researchers to enhance recombinant protein expression when the Yeast MoClo system is used, which increases the versatility of this toolkit for wider fields of applications. EcoRV and BglII sites are present for inserting into the Type II plasmids.
