intermediate part, used in conjunction with Cph8 to control LHII production in R. sphaeroides.
Usage and Biology
This part, when combined with part BBa_I15010 (Cph8) placed under control of the puc promoter (part BBa_K227007), allows for improved light-sensitive regulation of the LHII complexes in R. sphaeroides, leading to greater light efficient growth[http://2009.igem.org/Team:Wash_U]. In this system, Cph8 will be expressed constitutively under low oxygen tension, and under low light conditions will lead to phosphorylation of OmpR, activating transcription of pucBA (LHII) from the ompC promoter.
