These oligos were hybridized with ssDNA and so created a connection between the protein and the DNA. Another possiblity is to use TFO's (triplex-forming oligonucleotides) labeled with digoxigenin to establish a connection between dsDNA and protein.<br> <br>

Digoxigenin binding protein (DigA)

This part is a synthetic protein from the anticalin type which is derived from the naturally existing protein family of lipocalins. Like other antibody formats, it is able to bind an antigen. In case of this protein, the antigen is digoxigenin which can be present on labeled synthetic oligonucleotides.


Usage and Biology

Normally a digoxigenin antibody is used for nonradioactive in situ hybridization.
