sgDNA BlaSHV-1 181 in K. pneumoniae
This guide DNA has been designed to work with dCas9 to target AMR related genes in Klebsiella pneumoniae . The guide binds 181bp downstream the TSS.
The penicillin resistance gene blaSHV-1 was first discovered in K. pneumoniae in the 1960s. It is a class A beta-lactamase and also has β-lactamase activity against cephalosporins. It determines resistance against ampicillin. Over the years, many genes for broad-spectrum β-lactamases have developed, and have been identified, in various clinical strains of K. pneumoniae, increasing the emergence of infections caused by this bacterium.
