TEV protease cleavage site
Recognition sequence of the Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) protease. This sequence is meant to be placed between a protein coding sequence and an isolation/purification tag (e.g. Part:BBa_K4361102). When a tagged protein (Part:BBa_K4361103) is expressed and subsequently exposed to the TEV protease, the tag is cleaved off of the protein to prevent the tag from affecting its functionality.
