Double toehold Switch

The Toehold switch represses translation through its hairpin structure, which is hairpinned behind the RBS and the initiation codon (AUG). The trigger sequence is an RNA sequence that is fully antisense complementary to the trigger strand of the Toehold switch and is essential for initiating translation. When these two linear RNAs are complementary, the stem loop will open and the ribosome will bind to the RBS, recognize the start codon and begin translation. In the following, we combined the toehold of part BBa_K3577001 and part BBa_K3822000 to form double toehold.
