EgElo9
EgElo9 encodes ∆-9 elongase from Euglena gracilis which functions in the Δ-9 elongase/desaturase pathway and could convert C18:2 to C20:2.
Characterization
The EgElo9 gene encodes a protein of 258 amino acids. Heterologous expression of EgElo9 could catalyze linoleic acid (LA, C18:2) to eicosadienoic acid (EDA; C20: 2n-6).
