Exponential phase expression of ATFI
A stationary phase promoter (the osmY promoter from E. coli) provides the transcription input signal to a transcriptional inverter (Q04401). The output of the inverter drives expression of the AtfI enzyme that converts isoamyl alcohol into isoamyl acetate (banana odor). The result should be exponential phase production of banana odor.
