BGL
a β-glucosidase that can remove the protecting glucose from indican, and convert indican to indoxyl.
Usage and Biology
BGL was assemble with pET28a backbone to construct pET28a-BGL. BGL is induced to express to convert soluble indican to indoxyl, and the lattet can turn to indigo (or tyrian purple) by spontaneous oxidation
Source
BGL comes from P. tinctorium
