Beta-hydroxybutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase catalyzes an important step (acetyl-CoA to 3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA) in the acetyl-CoA butyrate synthesis pathway, further increasing the efficiency of bacteria’s butyrate production. This design of construct would lead to overexpression of the DNA sequence, further upregulating the production of beta hydroxybutyryl CoA dehydrogenase. Our composite part is synthesized by IDT.

HBD (Beta-hydroxybutyryl CoA dehydrogenase)

Beta-hydroxybutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase catalyzes an important step (acetyl-CoA to 3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA) in the acetyl-CoA butyrate synthesis pathway, further increasing the efficiency of bacteria’s butyrate production. We obtained the DNA sequence (HBD) encoded for butyryl- CoA dehydrogenase from the genome of E. coli Nissle 1917.
