This plasmid for deleting SBPase was successfully transformed into S. elongatus cells. Using segregation PCR we confirmed that only few copies of the genome could contain the inactivated SBPase with affecting cell viability.

This plasmid is for deletion of SBPase, and was successfully transformed into Synechococcus elongatus cells. Using segregation PCR, we confirmed that only few copies of the genome could contain the inactivated SBPase with affecting cell viability, but the plasmid was able to successfully integrate the selective marker for kanamycin resistance into the target gene.
