This Cas7 protein from Vibrio cholerae is part of the insertion of transposable elements by guide RNA–assisted targeting (INTEGRATE) system devised by Vo et al.(2020). The INTEGRATE system consists of CRISPR RNA-guided integrases for bacterial genome engineering (see <a href="https://parts.igem.org/Part:BBa_K3776022"> BBa_K3776022</a>). In this system, Cas7 is part of the TniQ-Cascade protein complex which is necessary for RNA-guided DNA integration.(Klompe et al., 2019)
