MS2 Coat Protein + SoxS Trancription Activator
This part is a fusion protein consisting of SoxS activator (BBa_K3657024) and MS2 capsid protein (BBa_K3218006).
Usage and Biology
MS2 capsid protein binds specifically to the MS2 RNA hairpin (BBa_K3113006). SoxS is a powerful activator in E. coli.
This construct was used together with a RNA·DNA-DNA triple helix containing an MS2 hairpin (BBa_K3657025). Use of these two parts together allows to attract the SoxS activator to the specific location on a DNA. More information available here: iGEM Heidelberg 2020.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic we were not able to get any empirical evidence about the performance of this part.
