This part is an Yarrowia lipolytica codon optimized version of a putative bifunctional fatty acid conjugase / desaturase (FadX) from Jacaranda mimosifolia.
Usage and Biology
This putative bifunctional fatty acid conjugase / desaturase FadX catalyses the conversion of linoleic acid, C18:2 (9Z,12Z) into jacaric acid, C18:3 (8Z, 10E, 12Z).
The sequence was uncovered following an Exome-sequencing that we performed on both fresh and germinated Jacaranda mimosifolia seeds.
