Applications of BBa_K208002

Fusion of this part with another Silver-fusion compatible protein coding sequence can lead to targeting of the protein for export out of the cytoplasm. It is a good idea to consider the use of multiple signal peptides, like OmpA, PelB, or TorA, as there are few guidelines to selecting a proper signal peptide for any given protein (Choi, 2004).

This particular signal peptide was used by the 2009 USU iGEM team to demonstrate phasin protein secretion.
