YTA2 - cell penetrating peptide

YTA2 is a synthetic cell-penetrating peptide (CPPs), which allows mediating the transport of cargo proteins across the cell membrane. Unlike many other YTA2 does not have to be chemically linked with the cargo molecule to mediate its transport. Simple coincubation of YTA2, the cargo molecule, and the cell is sufficient.

Biosafety

Together with professional safety officials, Team iGEM Tuebingen 2019 has evaluated the biosafety of cell penetrating peptides and has come to the conclusion that cell penetrating peptides are to be classified as BSL1.
