mRFP1 is a constitutively monomeric red fluorescent protein derived from Discosoma coral drFP583 gene. It is widely used as a reporter because it matures 10 times faster than DsRed and shows a greater tissue penetration. BBa_K3176001 allows the expression of mRFP1 in gram-positive cells. It was designed from BBa_J04450 and adapted for S. aureus and can thus be used as a reporter for this strain. The excitation peak is at 584 nm and it shows an emission peak at 607 nm.

mRFP for S.aureus with SarA RBS

mRFP1 is a constitutively monomeric red fluorescent protein derived from Discosoma coral drFP583 gene. It is widely used as a reporter because it matures 10 times faster than DsRed and shows a greater tissue penetration. BBa_K3176001 allows the expression of mRFP1 in gram-positive cells. It was designed from BBa_E1010 and adapted for S. aureus and can thus be used as a reporter for this strain by inserting the promoter SarA P1 from BBa_K1323021 and a SarA RBS from BBa_3176010. The excitation peak is at 584 nm and it shows an emission peak at 607 nm.
