Surface (S)-Layer Protein Constitutive Promoter for Lactobacillus sp.
It is a constitutive promoter from the surface (S)-layer protein (slp) promoter from L. acidophilus, responsible for the high level of transcription of stable mRNAs coding the S-protein monomers (Boot & Pouwels, 1996; Boot et al., 1996). Its activity in Lactobacillus reuteri was characterised in by Lizier et al, 2010.
