3G pLsrA
pLsrA promoter flanked by prefix sticky end A and suffix sticky end B in a 3G-compatible backbone. For more information on 3G hybrid DNA assembly and 3G parts, see the [http://2018.igem.org/Team:William_and_Mary/Part_Collection William and Mary 3G Parts Page].
LsrA is one of four genes in the lsr quorum-sensing operon that aids in the uptake of Autoinducer-2 (AI-2) into the cell. Specifically, "lsrA encodes the ATPase that provides energy for AI-2 transport." Phosphorylated AI-2 (phospho-AI-2) induces the lsr operon by binding to LsrR, which represses the operon.1
William and Mary iGEM encountered the promoter for lsrA through our collaboration with Virginia iGEM. For more information, visit [http://2018.igem.org/Team:Virginia/Parts Virginia iGEM's wiki].
