Pex11
This part contains the coding sequence for the peroxin Pex11p without promoter and terminator.
Usage and Biology
Pex11 is a peroxin located in the inner surface of the peroxisomal membrane and is required for peroxisome biogenesis [ 1 ]. Erdmann and Blobel have shown that the deletion of the PEX11 gene in S. cerevisiae results in cells with fewer, larger peroxisomes, whereas overexpression results in cells with a higher quantity of smaller peroxisomes [2].
