BBa_K592009 (AmilCP) supplemented with BBa_K2282002 (CspA 5'UTR)

Usage and Biology

AmilCP is a coral chromoprotein which displays a strong blue color. The amilCP expresses a strong color, visible to the naked eye and with a temperature-dependent expression when used with a weak promoter. This part was made to test the effect of the CspA 5'UTR on the AmilCP expression.

Source of this part

The 5’UTR sequence has been taken from the NCBI genebank on the Cold-shock protein A gene sequence. Mitta et al, 1997 clearly indicated its position so we just had to take the sequence from here. Sequences of the 5’UTR, DSBox and other cold-induced elements are very close to the parts of the iGEM10_Mexico-UNAM-CINVESTAV that can be found here : http://partsregistry.org/Part:BBa_K328003

Design and considerations

This part has no RBS because there is one already located on the 5’UTR, which is the Shine-Dalgarno sequence (Yamanaka et al, 1999) : 5’AAGG 3’
