This figure shows another proof of the Gal4-inducible expression from the pGalS promoter (BBa_K2247000). The above mentioned yeast strain JDYY001 was transformed with plasmids encoding pGalS-GFP and Gal4. These representative images showed successful expression of GFP under pGalS induced by Gal4 protein, also validating the function of pGalS promoter.

pGalS-GFP

This part encodes a GFP gene (BBa_K895006) under the pGalS yeast promoter, used to test the Gal4-dependent inducible expression from pGalS promoter (for detail, see BBa_K2247000).

Usage and Biology

See BBa_K2247000.

This part is mainly used to test the function of the yeast pGalS promoter (BBa_K2247000). The expression of GFP can be induced by galactose, or yeast Gal4 protein.

Figure 1. Yeast GFP expression under the pGalS promoter upon Gal4 induction.
