Usage and Biology
FruR is transcriptional repressor-activator for carbon metabolism. It activates transcription of genes involved in Krebs cycle, glyoxylate shunt and gluconeogenesis and represses genes involved in sugar catabolism, such as FruB.
Our team used this transcription factor together with the FruB promoter (pFruB, BBa_K2448017) to build a Fructose biosensor (BBa_K2448032) and the results shows that FruR behaved as predicted under and without induction.
