Registry Philosophy

Anyone may view most of the information in the Registry without having a Registry account. However, to add new parts, edit parts, edit wiki pages or use certain other services of the Registry an account is Required. We allow anyone to open a new account on the Registry in the group Guests.

User Accounts

You can get a user account by clicking on the "Log in/create account" link in the upper-right portion of any Registry or iGEM page. Follow the link to create a new Registry or iGEM Account.

Once you have an account, you can log in to the web sites. We have a single login system, so logging in to the Registry or any iGEM web site will log you in for all of our resources.

You can look at your user account by clicking "My account" in the upper-right corner. This will show you your account name and other user information. That page lists all of the iGEM teams, Registry labs, and Courses you have registered with.

You will also see a link that will allow you to join an iGEM team, lab, or course.

IGEM Teams

You can join an iGEM team from your user account page, or by going to https://igem.org/Join_Team.

If you are an iGEM team's primary contact, you can register a new team by going to https://igem.org/IGEM_2010_Registration

Labs

We are increasing our support for Registry labs. If you want to see the list of labs go to https://igem.org/Lab_List

If you want to join a lab, go to your user account page and click on the link 'Join a Lab' or go to https://igem.org/Join_Lab

If you are the primary contact for a lab and want to join the Registry, go to https://igem.org/Lab_Registration.

Courses:

If you are running a synthetic biology course at your school and would like the same support we provide for iGEM teams during the summer, please register your team at https://igem.org/Course_Registration. [Note: Right now, we need to enter courses manually. Please contact the Registry]

All of these links can be found on the igem.org home page.
